First “Rolling with my Homies” of the year, yihaa!!
This time I put my lovelysweettalented make up artist friend Senay Coco to the hot seat.
I met her at Flow-festival last summer and fastforward a couple of months and ta-daa we were working together on set for Elastinen‘s music video “Uus“. She’s worked with a lot of Finnish artists and talents and has constantly some new cool projects coming out. My friendly advice would be for you guys to keep an eye on her!
Let’s hear it for Senay!!
What’s on my ipod on repeat? MSMR – Secondhand Rapture

Guilty pleasure:
Home all alone with a big piece of chocolate cake and a good tv-serie.

The past weekend was so much F.U.N!! My favorite summer festival, Flow, celebrated it’s 10th year. Flow has been part of my summer since 2007 and it has gotten better and better every year.
I was over the moon to see Alicia Keys live, she’s such a beauty and so talented. Public Enemy’s gig was great, jumped up and down the whole time. Met so many friends, loved the athmosphere, danced to great tunes at the magnificent Carrera lounge and now I’m slightly astonished it’s over…
I’m sharing here two snaps from my sister Shadi and my friend Kaapo Kamu since I somehow wasn’t really active at snapping some pics (too busy partying, that’s why, hihihi).

Elle Danmark asked me to reveal my favorite hometown spots and the article is out now in their March issue (nr.54) titled “My Cool Helsinki”.
Thank you journalist Maria Arndt for asking me to participate in the Nordic issue, I feel so honored and I had such a blast doing this project!
And the same in English:
Best shopping:
Can’t deny the attraction of the good ol’ Aleksanterinkatu and Pohjoisesplanadi, the main shopping area in Helsinki. You can find the coolest of the highstreet and the most luxurious brands like Louis Vuitton here. Perfect for fashionistas.
Best cafe:
Absolutely Brooklyn Cafe in Fredrikinkatu 19. It’s like teleporting yourself to New York City. This tiny cafe has the most perfect vanilla lattes & shakes and the cupcakes to die for. No kidding.
Best restaurant:
I love hamburgers and this new restaurant in town called Stefan’s Steakhouse (Korkeavuorenkatu 34) has this crazy delicious pulled pork hamburger. Even thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Bar for drinks:
There’s something mystical in the 1930′s vibe of the the bar Liberty or Death (Erottajankatu 5). I just love the place and so does my friends which makes it a nice place to start the evening with magnificent cocktails. The drinkmenu changes every now and then and it’s always a thrill to see what the talented bartenders have come up with. The bubbly is served in Marie Antoinettesque glasses which in my opinion makes my favorite drink taste even better.
Best kept secret:
Don’t know if this one is much of a secret anymore since Mattolaituri (Ehrenströmintie 3A) has been open for two summer seasons now and has become hugely popular among us from here but this seaside bar is the coolest place to go to on a nice summer day.
Best cultural experience:
The award goes to Flow-festival. This festival is my one and only festival must in the summer. Dope artists, amazing athmosphere and situated near the city center, this festival keeps on getting better and better each year. I have so many great memories from this festival, last year’s highlights were seeing Bon Iver and Asap Rocky and dancing my shoes off (for real) at the Champagne Bar. Book your tickets asap though, needless to say they get sold out really quickly. The next party starts on the 9th of August 2013.
Best area of the city:
I love the southern part of my city, especially Eira, Ullanlinna and Punavuori areas. The sea is near so you can take a nice evening stroll by the seaside and admire the architecture of the beautiful old houses of Eira and Ullanlinna. Punavuori on the other hand offers a more upbeat athmosphere with its clubs and bars so the balance is restored.
